Re: Duro-Care^® System

Dear Mr. Rodes:

First, let me say that I never buy car care products at the auto show, but this is one time that I am ecstatic that I did. The demonstration and your straight talk about the virtues of the Duro-Care system convinced me to buy it, and try it on the vinyl roof of my 1979 Chrysler LeBaron. This car had been generally garaged, and the top was in good condition, but for the last two years, I had parked it outside, under a boysenberry tree at my parents' house. I had always used Simonize paste wax on the top to keep it pliable and soft. The tan vinyl, which had faded over the years, had been badly stained by berry juice and dead leaves and the built-up wax had darkened in the textured pattern of the vinyl top. I did not really think that your product would have any magical effect on it.

I decided to perform my own comparison test to see if the Duro-Care System would work any better than the products that I had been using, so I used my regular cleaning products first. I applied CALPRO, an industrial strength cleaner/degreaser with a brush, as usual. It took off the surface dirt, and not much else. Then I brushed in DeSolv-It, a multi-purpose solvent which states on the label that it will remove most stains, and wax. It took off some, but not much, of the wax, and none of the stains or discolorations. But, when I applied the Duro-Care cleaner, and started to brush it in, the wax just seemed to melt away, the stains disappeared, and the color came back. Not to say that it did not require some effort on my part, but the cleaner produced superlative results, immediately. The finisher provided equal results, making the top literally sparkle as it has not done in many years. I expect the finish to last just as you have claimed that it will. My top looks almost new, and I am delighted to be writing to you about my experience.

I hope that you will introduce more breakthrough products like Duro-Care.
